“PC encouraged me to be well-rounded — in a way, a Renaissance man.”
As a soon-to-graduate Class of 2013 Friar, I look back on my four years at Providence College and am grateful for the opportunities I’ve had here. These opportunities have made me a better student, a more strategic thinker, and a leader in the PC community. My experience, and those of my fellow classmates, wouldn’t be possible without the generosity of donors like you.
I grew up in Worcester, Mass., attended a Catholic high school, and aspired to go to PC. Thanks to scholarship support and financial aid, becoming a Friar became a reality.
At PC, I’ve been able to major in quantitative economics, but I’ve also loved the challenge of the Development of Western Civilization sequence and the Liberal Arts Honors program. I’ve grown as a writer and a campus leader through my involvement with The Cowl, and in my senior year became editor-in-chief. PC’s Office of Career Education helped me land an internship on the stock trading floor of the Manhattan investment bank Jeffries & Co. — an experience that allowed me to compete on the same level as students from the Ivy League. As a result, I have a job secured as an economic consultant with a prestigious Boston firm.
These opportunities have enabled me to become a Renaissance man — as comfortable talking economics as existentialism.
All of this was made possible by the PC Fund.
WHAT DOES THE PC FUND DO? EVERY THING.
The PC Fund enables the College to respond to its most pressing needs. It helped the Office of Career Education to expand its services — giving students like me a leg up in today’s competitive job market. It gives student clubs and organizations such as The Cowl the funds they need to provide outside-the-classroom learning experiences. It allows the College to offer financial aid to students without cutting back on the things that make PC unique.
YOU ARE THE PC FUND. YOU MAKE EVERY THING POSSIBLE.
I hope you will consider making a gift to the PC Fund by June 30, 2013
so that future Friars are able to take advantage of everything that PC has to offer. The experiences I’ve had at PC have changed my life.
Your generosity changes lives.
