Giving to Help All Students Succeed

The Office of Academic Services (OAS) in Phillips Memorial Library is close to the heart of Thomas M. Murphy ’63.

Seeing PC through Someone Else's Eyes, and Giving More

Sometimes it takes a Tennessee Volunteer to nudge a Friar in the right direction. From his home in Georgia, William J. Zaryski, Jr. ’73 maintained close ties to PC. He served on the National Alumni Association Board of Governors, was president of the Atlanta alumni club for 10 years, represented PC at local college fairs, and faithfully donated to the PC Fund, as well as supporting the Msgr. R. Donald Kiernan ’45 Scholarship.

In 2011, the Zaryskis came to PC to attend their first St. Dominic Weekend and decided to increase their annual giving to become members of the St. Dominic Society. “I was taught during my four years at Providence how to give and be a good, abiding, contributing member to society,” said Cervione. “What we were taught at PC prepared me for success in my personal and professional life.”

Cervione, a finance major who was Student Congress president his senior year and a four-year member of the Friars Club, is managing partner of Blue Fin Group. He targets his giving toward scholarships, the PC Fund, and the Angel Fund. Read more >
