Share in the 5th Annual FUSION Experience!
The Providence College President's Council, Mal Brown Club, and Newport Area Club invite you to participate in the 2011 Providence FUSION project. FUSION volunteers will collaborate with the College and the City of Providence to complete the next phase of renovation work on this historic homestead. Father Shanley, Providence Mayor Taveras, and a large Providence City Council delegation are scheduled to join you along with upper-class student volunteers for the day.
Providence College, the President’s Council and the City Parks Department are mid-way through a 10-year partnership to transform the homestead of our country’s first commodore of the Continental Navy into a modern day city landmark. Alumni will be paired with a student volunteer during the day of service. The scope of work will include repairs and painting to the exterior of the home, construction of new property fencing reflecting the 18th century period, and general landscaping.
