Since the Friar 5K’s debut in 2010, more than 2,050 participants have taken on the 3.1 mile course through Friartown, each one contributing to the National Alumni Association Scholarship Fund.
Five years later the Friar 5K continues to support this fund, helping to provide students at Providence College with the most transformative experience possible.
Online registration is now closed.
There are two opportunities to still register in person:
-Friday, October 3rd from 4:00pm-6:30pm in Lower Slavin in front of McPhail’s
- Saturday, October 4th (race day) beginning at 8:00am in Suites Pavilion
*Please note prices increase on race day to $20 for students/participants under 18, and $30 for everyone else.
Students, faculty, staff and alumni are invited to join in the celebration of the fifth annual Friar 5K by registering online today. Run or walk the USA Track & Field-sanctioned course through the ever evolving PC Campus and surrounding community. Shotgun start at 10:00 a.m.
After the race, participants and their families are encouraged to stay on campus to continue the celebration at the College’s annual Friar Fanfest taking place on the Lower Quad, sponsored by the Office of Alumni Relations and the Department of Athletics. Highlights include children’s races, race awards, entertainment, a taste of Providence’s local favorites, and fun for the whole family.
This year's race will be held in conjunction with St. Dominic Weekend. We hope you will stay for the day or return to campus Saturday evening for the public launch of Our Moment: The Next Century Campaign for Providence College. This outdoor party will feature gourmet food and drink, live entertainment by student performers, a collaborative art project, and a celebration of everything that makes PC great. Festivities kick off at 7 p.m. on the Slavin Lawn.
Celebrate one community, five years running.
