Senior Giving Program Surpasses 2010 Record in Participation

Using the theme “Anchored in Providence,” the Class of 2011 distinguished itself by setting a participation rate record in the Senior Giving Program. The 60% participation rate bested the previous mark of 58% by the Class of 2010. To date, the Class of 2011 campaign has raised more than $35,000.

"This year's Senior Giving Committee worked really well together - we could not have beaten last year's class participation record without the help of each committee member," said co-chair Eamonn Nolan '11. "We came up with creative incentives to give. If a senior gave $20.11, they were able to write a thank you message to their parents, that would appear on the jumbo-tron during commencement. It was very well received, both by the students and families."

On Wednesday April 27, the Office of Annual Giving and the Senior Giving Committee co-sponsored a Senior Send Off event for all members of the Class of 2011 who donated. A check was presented to Providence College for the PC Fund – College President Rev. Brian J. Shanley, O.P. ’80 accepted the check. With over 125 students in attendance, it truly was a successful event, and overall, a remarkable campaign.

"Being a part of the Senior Giving Campaign was a very rewarding experience for me," said co-chair Lily Glueck '11. "As a committee, we were able to talk with seniors about how important giving back is, and that Providence College cannot run on tuition alone. I'm very proud of our class for stepping up and giving back."

Did you know that young alumni make up nearly 25% of PC’s alumni network? Follow the Class of 2011’s lead and give today. If you give $5 a month for the next year, that’s $60. Every little bit adds up.
