Alma Mater Singalong

Huxley’s Hangout for Friar Pets
Noon ET | Tuesday, May 12  

This is one Zoom meeting where animal intrusions are more than welcome! Huxley the Mascot will host a Friared-up Zoom meeting for your four-legged friends. Friars of all ages are encouraged to join in. Pets and humans alike are encouraged to wear Friar gear.

Overcoming Adversity with Mike Leonard ’70 & ’00Hon. 
7 p.m. ET | Wednesday, May 13  

Over the course of five decades as an Emmy Award-winning journalist and documentary filmmaker, Mike Leonard ’70 & ’00Hon. has told more than his share of stories about people who have overcome long odds to find success and happiness. Join us for a Zoom meet-up with the former Today Show correspondent, who will share some of the most inspiring of those stories and his insights on how we can all effectively deal with crisis.

Grab a (virtual) custom Friar Jersey  
1 – 3 p.m.  on the PC Athletics Facebook and Twitter | Thursday, May 14 

If you’ve always dreamed about having your own custom Providence College jersey, now is your chance! Providence College Athletics is offering custom virtual wallpapers that look like PC jerseys for a limited time! To grab your own, reply to their Facebook and Twitter posts (live at 1 p.m. on Thursday) between 1 and 3 p.m. with your name and jersey number.  

Have a “Done with College” Friar Party  
Between 7:30 and 8:30 p.m. ET | Friday, May 15 

Break out your “Done with Civ” T-shirt and invite your PC friends to reminisce about the good old days with a PC-themed Zoom party. Friar gear, cupcakes, and PC pride encouraged. Parties will be selected at random to be Zoombombed by Friar Dom the mascot. Simply schedule your Zoom gathering in advance and share your meeting ID with us in advance of Friday evening.   

#FriarFriday: Share your Friar Drive-Up  
All day | Friday, May 15 

If you’re so over Zoom calls, texting, and phone calls, try a drive-up visit! Call one of your college besties and offer to drive by their house at a specific time to say hello. You can stay in your car and maintain social distancing while exchanging updates, stories, and laughs. Bonus points if you Friar up your vehicle. Share a photo, tag @pc_alumni on Twitter or @provcollege_alumni on Instagram, and we may feature your posts on our accounts.  

Join us for the Class of 2020 Virtual Degree Ceremony 
11 a.m. ET | Sunday, May 17 

It’s not every day you get to see a new group of Friars join the alumni community! Degrees will be awarded to the Class of 2020 during a virtual ceremony at 11 a.m. on Sunday, May 17. Visit commencement.providence.edu to watch video messages from College President Rev. Brian J. Shanley, O.P. ’80, class president Julia Gaffney ’20, and Provost Dr. Hugh Lena and see a full list of graduates. Commencement Exercises for the Class of 2020 will take place on Saturday, Oct. 31.
