COVID-19 in a Vaccine Hesitant World

Join us for this session, co-sponsored by the Greater Boston Alumni Club and Fairfield Alumni Network, for a discussion about vaccine hesitancy during the COVID-19 pandemic. Dr. Caple and Rev. Nicanor Austriaco, O.P. ’20G will speak about the vaccine and discuss global trends and research.

About the panelists:

Dr. Alexandria Caple is a post-doctoral teaching fellow in the Department of Psychology at PC. Dr. Caple studies how to alter individual attitudes and beliefs. Specifically, her research focuses on anti-vaxxers, predictors of vaccine hesitancy, and how to change vaccine-hesitant attitudes.

Rev. Nicanor Austriaco, O.P. ’20G, is professor of biology and of theology at PC. Father Austriaco is a yeast molecular biologist who is developing a yeast delivery platform for a COVID-19 vaccine for resource-poor countries. He is also the lead investigator for the UST-CoVAX Awareness team at the University of Santo Tomas in the Philippines. His interdisciplinary team at the university is working to end the pandemic in the Philippines by raising vaccine confidence among Filipino people.

Dr. Matthew Eriksen, Professor and Chair of the Department of Management, and Ariel Galipeau, ’15G, co-founders of Your Story, will host a session about redefining work in a way that aligns with values, purpose, and meaning. 

During this session Dr. Eriksen and Ariel will present perspectives about work that will expand your imagination of what is possible for your relationship with work and your day-to-day experience of work.
