On #GivingTuesday, the Providence College Community did something remarkable.
From across the country, in just 24 hours, more than 375 alumni, parents, staff, faculty, students and friends contributed more than $70,000 to support the Providence College Angel Fund and other areas critical to the mission of the College.
Angel Fund donations help students facing unexpected challenges or financial hardship to continue their education at PC. Sadly, students may face the loss of a parent, a personal setback, or impacts of recent widespread natural disasters. With nearly $500,000 of Angel Fund support needed to aid the families from Puerto Rico who are affected by Hurricane Maria alone, we are proud of and thankful for the support of the PC community.
Thank you for being a hero to students in need.
On #GivingTuesday, the generosity of the Friar family shined with incredible support for the Angel Fund. This fund helps students who might otherwise not be able continue living and learning in Friartown.
Angel Fund assistance is used to:
- Bridge a gap in a family’s ability to pay tuition
- Fund travel to fulfill important family obligations
- Pay for health insurance or other medical needs
- Support PC students impacted by natural disasters
